Christmas Message from Hayley!

Hayley has sent hayleywestenra.com her latest blog and Christmas greeting with some photos.
" Hello hello,

Thought I'd send you a short message before the end of the year is up and you all go away on holiday, myself included! I head back home to New Zealand tomorrow for a good month off which will give me plenty of time to catch up with the family and friends...oh, and top up my tan too! (apologies to those living in the northern hemisphere) I can't wait...it's been a busy year!
At this very minute I'm in the recording studio demoing a song I've recently composed, then I'm off back to my flat to pack my bags, make some calls and do my best to get the flat looking spic and span before I leave. The last few months have been pretty crazy, but good fun. My 3 week tour of Japan was a definite highlight for me and I'm looking forward to going back next year for some more concerts. Returning to the UK after a 2 month stint away was also wonderful (no comment on the weather!) as was returning to Dublin for a sold-out Christmas Concert with the the RTE Concert Orchestra on the 4th of December. I released my autobiography -another exciting accomplishment- and recorded some duets with a couple of great male singers for future release. A few days ago I was in Bath, England for a concert with The Silver Ring Choir as well as some other wonderful guest choirs. This was my last show for the year and what a lovely way to finish...a New Zealand carol with the starring choir. Then, a catch-up with a number of my dedicated supporters -Thanks so much for the cards and pressies! I will definitely be sharing the chocolate!!

Looking ahead to next year, first on the agenda is an overdue tour of New Zealand! It will be an honour to tour with the fantastic Dave Dobbyn. Our musical styles are a bit contrasting, but that is where the magic happens! See you there... Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and festive season!! And while I'm at it...a happy New Year too!

Ever the favourite, Christchurch singer Hayley Westenra has managed yet another feat.
The 20-year-old is set to have 2007's biggest selling album, with Treasure.
She appears to have beaten British popera star Paul Potts and rock band Linkin Park for the crown.

Rihanna's Umbrella is set to be the biggest selling single in New Zealand this year, spending 24 weeks on the top 40 chart.

Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie is in second place with Big Girls Don't Cry.

Christchurch band Atlas are the top Kiwis, at sixth place with their breakout hit Crawl.

OpShop's Maybe - which has been the most-played song on radio this year - is at 11th spot.

!!!CONGRATULATIONS HAYLEY!!!
